Birthday Shopping Haul!

My birthday was this past Wednesday. I took a trip to the mall today to take advantage of some coupons I had. As always got some SUPER amazing deals. I had two coupons from Express, a $15 dollar birthday coupon and just one of the regular $15 dollar coupons that they send out in their mailers.

All tops at Express are 30% off because of a sale they have going on (which ends today). Thank you lovely little sale for coordinating perfectly with my $15 dollar off coupons! I picked up the adorable Dreamweight Ruffled-Neck Top . I am just crazy about the little lace detailing. I also got the Sexy Basic Flutter-Sleeve Top in Heather Grey.

My mom also got a $10 dollar coupon from JCPennys which she gave me. I got the a.n.a Beaded Shoulder Top in two different colors, Rasberry and Taupe. Apparently I am all about the ruffles for spring/summer. They are just so girly and cute I can't resist!

After getting a blizzard for my birthday and possibly some more snow headed my way I am more than looking forward to spring and summer! Can't wait to wear these adorable tops. :)

I stopped by the mall today and while I was there noticed my Barnes & Noble had a few tables of books, leftover Christmas puzzles and Christmas cards for only $2 DOLLARS!!!! Not sure how long the sale has been going on for or how long it will last, but if you pass a B&N anytime soon while shopping its worth checking out. I got a few different puzzles (my family always puts a puzzle together every year on Christmas Eve/Christmas). For $2 you can't really go wrong- full price they were $10-$15 dollars! I also picked up a box of ADORABLE Curious George Christmas cards. They are just too cute! Can't wait to send them out next year. :)

These movies need to come out ASAP!!!

I haven't posted in awhile and decided to do a little post about some upcoming movies for spring that I'm REALLY excited for. So here they are...

DEAR JOHN
This movie is based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, which I have to admit I wasn't to crazy about when I read it a few years ago. LOVE Amanda Seyfried though and the movie seems really cute. So despite not liking the book to much I'm SUPER excited for this movie to come out on February 5th. Click here to view the trailer.

ALICE AND WONDERLAND

There is so much hype over this movie all ready. OPI created a line of Alice and Wonderland nail polish and Urban Decay created a book of shadows inspired by the movie...All I gotta say is it better be good! Tim Burton's made it so I'm sure it will be. I'm looking forward to seeing Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter. Seems like the role is right up his alley. Long live Captain Jack though. He will always be my favorite Johnny Depp character. Lucky for me there's another Pirates movie in the works. 2011 why aren't you here yet? :) Until then, I guess Alice and Wonderland will do.It will be in theaters March 5th. Click here to view the trailer.

THE LAST SONG
Last Song is another movie based off a Nicholas Sparks novel. Miley Cyrus is in it. It should be interesting seeing her in a non Hannah Montana role. The whole beach setting is totally making me wish it were summer and warm out though. Because of this movie the book has been added to my loooong looooong list of books to read. I like reading books after seeing the movie though, so I guess I will save this one for the summer. The movie comes out on April 2nd. Click here to view the trailer.

After Christmas shopping trip...

Happy 2010! I spent the first day of the new year shopping and found some great sales! :)

First I went to Kohl's and the mall in the afternoon. I got a new pair of jeans from Kohl's for $15.99. I had a coupon for $10 dollars so I ended up getting them for $5.99. While I was at the mall I picked up a cute dress from the clearance racks at JCPennys. It's the peacock print dress from their I Heart Ronson line. It was originally priced at $50 dollars but I got it for $10.19!

Bath & Body Works and Victoria Secret were having their semi-annual sales but neither had anything that great. For some reason I think their summer semi-annual sales are better...

Tonight I went to Target to check out the Christmas clearance. I was hoping to find a pack of Christmas cards but everything was picked over. However everything was 75% off and I did find a few things! I picked up a cute pink 2 ft tinsel tree for $1.99 for my sister. I also got 2 packs of tiny glass ball ornaments which were only 62 cents each and a pack of ornament hooks for 17 cents to go with the tree.

Last of all I picked up a stocking for myself. I already have a stocking (which I really like) from when I was little so I didn't need one. But it was only $2.49 and WAY too cute to pass up. I mean c'mon hot pink+ Tinkerbell?

I'm going to hang it up as a decoration in my room when the holidays roll around next year!

Heidi Klum's VS Holiday 2009 Exotic Jewels Collection

For the most part when it comes to makeup I've never really been one to buy anything besides normal drugstore brands. However, when I first saw Hedi Klum's Exotic Jewels Holiday collection for Victoria Secret it was love at first sight. I came across the collection in November when I was browsing Victoria's Secrets website and just knew I had to take a trip to VS and splurge on something!

I ended up getting two items from the Exotic Jewels collection. First I got the Face Powder Gems which was a random gift from my sister. The gems are a mix of pinks, nudes and champages and I've been using it over my blush to add a little extra sparkle. To me the Face Powder Gems aren't really all that pigmented, but they do provide a little bit of sparkle. And not a fake glittery one but a nice subtle glow. I also got a $10 dollar gift card in the mail from Victoria Secret for the holidays and I used that on the Hidden Palace eyeshadow palette. From my experience Victoria Secret makes really great eyeshadow palettes!

I own one other VS eyeshadow palette which I think is from one of their makeup collections in 2007 (the Heavenly Faces quad with white, brown, purple and blue shadows). Ever since I got the Heavenly Faces palette it has been one of my FAVORITE go-to eyeshadow palettes. My addiction to these VS eyeshadows was one of the reasons I could not pass up Hedi Klum's Hidden Palace palette. After using Hedi's palette a few times I can honestly say I LOVE it just as much (if not more than) my Heavely Faces one!!! It's seriously AMAZING! The shadows are pigmented yet you can still apply them sheer. The only color eyeshadow that I haven't tried from the collection is the black. Mostly because I don't know what to do with it or how to incorporate it in with the lighter shades. The only downside to the palette is that the brush it comes with isn't all that great. Personally I don't see that as being such a big deal. I just use another eyeshadow brush I have.

The limited edition collection was inspired by Hedi's recent trip to India and includes six items:

The face gems and eyeshadow palette are probably about all I will be getting from the collection. I love the shade of the lipstick and lipgloss however they both have a strong smell to them that I really couldn't stand. I read online they are supposed to smell like chocolate but in the store they smelled like spices to me. I don't use eyeliner all that much so there is no need to buy that. If I were to get anything else from the collection it would probably be the Amethyst mascara...I don't know if I am adventurous enough to try a crazy colored mascara though!

If you haven't yet check out Hedi Klum's limited edition Exotic Gems collection! These items great quality, beautifully packaged and best of all modestly priced. The Exotic Jewels collection items would make really great gifts (to give or get) for the holidays. Overall I am SUPER happy with the two items I have. I think this may be the beginning of an addiction to Victoria Secret's makeup...I'm really excited to see what they have in store for Spring/Summer and even for next year around the holidays! :)
