Sale Shopping!

It's been awhile since I have posted a haul of my deals. Some of the items in this post are from all the way back in DECEMBER! I know, I know... I've been a slacker! :)

Last weekend I went to Kohl's and picked up this cute Nine & Co. giraffe print wallet. I got it to go with my beloved Giraffe Print Medium Sac Dooney&Bourke! I didn't want to splurge $100+ dollars on a wallet so this find was PERFECT! It was on sale and I had a 30% coupon so ended up getting the Nine & Co. wallet for around $9! Sure can't beat a price like that!

The next three shirt are from an impromptu trip I took to the mail last night. I needed to get new tires on my car and there was a mall right by the tire place...obviously I had to go shopping! Especially since I had some coupons to use. I'm thrifty so can't pass up the opportunity to use coupons that I know will end up getting me great deals.

Recently New York & Company sent me a $10 coupon with no required spending limit. I found the top below on clearance for $14.99. Yup, so I only paid $4.99 for it!

I also had a $10 coupon and a 15% off coupon for JCP. Found two sweaters on the sale racks and got a fabulous deal on them!

Novelty Yarn Sweater by ALYX $11.54

Liz Claiborne sweater $4.60

The last few items I bought from JCP during the end of 2010... just forgot to post them at the time.

I Heart Ronson tweed moto jacket $20.60

East 5th sweater/top (similar here) $8.69

Outfit of the Day: A Whiter Shade of Pale

I posted my first Outfit of the Day last month and figured me and my Hot Pink Canon Powershot are long overdue to come back with another Outfit of the Day post! My white blouse made me think of the song 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' by Procol Harum. With National Record Store Day being Saturday I thought that would be a perfect title for today's look...

What I Wore Today:

Blouse: East 5th Layered-Look Blouse, JcPenney
Necklace: Ten Thousand Villages , Circa 2009
Jeans: SO Wave Flare Jeans, Kohls
Shoes: Loeffler Randall for Target Cinch Flats, Circa 2008

Since you can't see the fabulous necklace I am wearing in my picture here is a close-up of it. I purchased it last year shortly after my birthday from fair trade retailer Ten Thousand Villages and I absolutely ADORE it! It was handmade by artisans in Peru (If my memory serves me correct I believe Allpa was the one). When I saw it I just knew I had to have it! Unfortunately I think they have discontinued this design because it is no longer on the website and I haven't seen one in a Ten Thousand Villages store since I bought mine.

And finally a close up of my pretty flats! I just came across these tucked away in a box while looking through my closet for another pair of shoes earlier this week and I totally forgot I even had them!!! [Note to self: Take a better mental inventory of shoe collection]. I still remember spotting these in Target a few years ago and drooling over them. They were $29.99 and I wasn't sure if they would hold up well so I didn't want to spend that much on them. Then one day lo and behold I was browsing the shoe section of Target and found these little beauties in the color and size I wanted. The best part? I got them for $7 dollars and some change!

Bonus Music Trivia (in honor of Record Store Day):
  • More than 900 artists have recorded cover versions of the Procol Harum song 'A Whiter Shade of Pale.'
  • In 2009 Procul Harum's 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' was named the most played song on British radio over the last 75 years. Which means it was played more than any songs by THE BEATLES! Pretty impressive...huh?

Never heard 'A Whiter Shade of Pale Before'? Listen below:

After Christmas shopping trip...

Happy 2010! I spent the first day of the new year shopping and found some great sales! :)

First I went to Kohl's and the mall in the afternoon. I got a new pair of jeans from Kohl's for $15.99. I had a coupon for $10 dollars so I ended up getting them for $5.99. While I was at the mall I picked up a cute dress from the clearance racks at JCPennys. It's the peacock print dress from their I Heart Ronson line. It was originally priced at $50 dollars but I got it for $10.19!

Bath & Body Works and Victoria Secret were having their semi-annual sales but neither had anything that great. For some reason I think their summer semi-annual sales are better...

Tonight I went to Target to check out the Christmas clearance. I was hoping to find a pack of Christmas cards but everything was picked over. However everything was 75% off and I did find a few things! I picked up a cute pink 2 ft tinsel tree for $1.99 for my sister. I also got 2 packs of tiny glass ball ornaments which were only 62 cents each and a pack of ornament hooks for 17 cents to go with the tree.

Last of all I picked up a stocking for myself. I already have a stocking (which I really like) from when I was little so I didn't need one. But it was only $2.49 and WAY too cute to pass up. I mean c'mon hot pink+ Tinkerbell?

I'm going to hang it up as a decoration in my room when the holidays roll around next year!
